TRAINING / ACCREDITATIONS
Onyx Contractor’s safety culture started with the idea of sending everyone home exactly the way they came to work that morning. That idea is still the driving force of our business everyday. All Onyx employees know that safety is our top priority. Onyx Contractors does this by encouraging all staff to look at safety as a proactive program, not a reactive program.
For all prospective employees Onyx implements pre-employment drug screening, back-ground checks, and a review of their safety credentials. For current employees, Onyx holds monthly safety meetings that cover any potential issues from the previous month, as well as any upcoming issues, training on safety policies and procedures.
Onyx Contractors has a zero tolerance policy and administers random drug tests each month. At each monthly safety meeting all employees who abide by these policies and procedures are rewarded with a safety incentive check, which encourages all employees to go above and beyond all expectations. Additionally, daily tailgate meetings are held for all jobs in order to recognize any issues present for completing the job as safely as possible.
